Course Description

Our Intensive English program is a fast, enjoyable and effective way to rapidly improve your English skills. This program combines General English classes with Skills classes which emphasise the development of specific language skills.

For those students seeking additional study options they can access a wide variety of extra study options including live online evening classes; self-study with learning content in our online Learning Platform; extra vocabulary and pronunciation practice 24/7 using our YouSTUDY phone app.

English classes

Our experienced teachers will provide high-quality communicative English classes focussed on improving your core listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, allowing your fluency, accuracy and confidence to rapidly improve.

Skills classes

Students focus on key areas of their language development, assisting you in making the fastest possible progress. Classes which may be offered include:

• Grammar and Vocabulary

• Everyday English
• Speaking and Listening
• Conversation and Pronunciation

Additional Study Options

Our school provides students with a wide range of opportunities for extra study, allowing students to focus on areas of interest or weakness, to practice using English with other students and to make new friends. Additional study options include:

• Live evening classes
• Online Learning Platform
• Phone App

Students can use a variety of self-study material available from the YouSTUDY library on campus, our YouSTUDY online Learning Platform and YouSTUDY phone app. These online resources allow students to better focus their studies on areas of personal interest, to more easily review past lesson topics, to focus on a skills area of weakness (speaking, listening, writing or reading) and to access high-quality study materials. These materials are available both in the study centre and can be accessed on students own personal devices.

For those students seeking to meet more students from around the world and to experience our Virtual classroom, students can join our online evening classes where teachers focus on one area of grammar and vocabulary each session, different class levels are available from lower Intermediate to Advanced.

All of these Additional Study Options are included at no extra charge to YouSTUDY enrolled students.

Student Visa Holders
Face-to Face Classes at our Cairns Campus 20 hours per week plus our Additional Study Options

Tourist and Working Holiday Visa Holders
Students can choose from two options:

• Face-to-Face at our Cairns Campus 20 hours per week plus our Additional Study Options OR
• Flexibility to choose to study for 20 hours joining daytime Face-to-Face classes and/or our virtual classes in the evening.

NOTE: This flexible timetable is suitable for students that are working or choosing to visit the local attractions while visiting Cairns. This option is NOT available for Student Visa holders
